Bureau of Internal Affairs
The Bureau of Internal Affairs is responsible for safeguarding the integrity of the County of Oklahoma, the integrity of the Oklahoma Sheriff's Department, and the rights of all citizens within the area of jurisdictional responsibility of the Sheriff’s Department. The Section is responsible to the Sheriff who has placed the responsibility for the investigation of citizens' complaints as well as internally initiated complaints of breaches of discipline by departmental members in this Section. The Bureau of Internal Affairs is also responsible for safeguarding departmental members against malicious and untruthful allegations of misconduct.

Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T.)

Special Weapons and Tactics is responsible for safeguarding the lives of the inhabitants of the Great State of Oklahoma and providing protection, support, security, firepower, and rescue to police operations in high-risk situations, where specialized tactics are necessary to minimize casualties.

Academy Division

The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office Academy Division is to recruit and train any incoming future deputies for the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office. It is our responsibility to ensure each cadet that goes through the Academy is properly trained and knowledgeable on how we operate in the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office out in the field with basic LEO information and procedures.

Special Response Unit

The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Unit is to recruit and train any deputies in the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office that are looking for specialties or certifications. It is our responsibility to ensure each deputy that goes through the Special Response Unit and the individual sub-division's are properly trained and knowledgeable on how we operate in the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office out in the field.

Criminal Investigations Unit

The criminal investigation unit (CIU) is a Unit within the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Department. CIU commits to providing the residents of Oklahoma justice, and to providing the highest quality investigative and specialized response services to the public and the criminal justice community. We make sure to investigate cases thoroughly, and to the best of our ability. CIU has a group of commissioned deputies, all of whom have specialized training in criminal investigations. CIU is commanded by Lieutenant Jake Peralta, along with Staff Sergeant T. Bray.
