The biomechanical frame of reference is considered a remedial approach. This FOR assumes the the client you are working with will be able to regain motor skills needed to perform desired occupations. This FOR additionally assumes that the client will regain motor skills by working and engaging in occupations and therapy activities. The goal in this FOR is to maintain existing function, restore lost function, prevent deterioration, and compensate for loss of movement.
