Did you know that you remain a King’s student after first year, even if you don’t intend to pursue Journalism or any of our humanities-based upper year honours programs (Early Modern Studies, Contemporary Studies, or History of Science and Technology)? Through our partnership with Dalhousie University, King’s students have full access to all the classes and services within the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences and the Faculty of Science at Dalhousie. In the King’s Registrar’s Office, we provide students with academic support and help navigating these services from the day they are admitted until the day they graduate at Encaenia!
We encourage you to visit the Registrar’s Office in the first two weeks of the Fall semester during our drop-in hours (Monday through Friday, 9am to 4pm) to chat with an Academic Advisor about your academic interests and to develop a degree pathway. This can also help make sure your first-year registration has you well prepared for your intended program in the Future.
We’re here to assist you with course selection and registration, course changes, grade appeals, transcripts, confirmations of enrollment, incorporating transfer credits in your degree (that might be you, IB and AP students!), scholarship and bursary information, and to help connect you with the people and services that will help you succeed (both at King’s and Dal). Our team of Advisors and Peer Academic Advisors are here to support you! You can reach the full Advising Team at registrar@ukings.ca . Our office is located through the blue door to your left when you enter the Arts and Administration building.
To formally welcome you into the King’s community, the University holds a Matriculation ceremony during your first Fall term of study. The ceremony signals the University’s commitment to the education of students, and the responsibility of students as members of the University. The College’s first Matricula dates back to 1803. Keep an eye on your institutional email for updates for this exciting event.
If you have any questions related to your academics, please do not hesitate to reach out to us
at registrar@ukings.ca. Questions about Scholarships and Bursaries can be directed to Catherine Read at awards@ukings.ca.

Parents and others often ask Student Accounts to disclose financial information about a student’s account so that they can make accurate tuition and fee payments. Our policy is to protect the confidentiality of all information pertaining to our students, including all their detailed financial records and account balances. If you wish to grant permission for financial information to be released to a third party (such as a parent), Student Accounts requires you to send an e-mail from your official university e-mail account to: accounts@ukings.ca. Please include your name, Banner ID number (B0******* found on your acceptance letter) and the name and email address of the third party, individuals, or organizations you are authorizing. Please note, Student Accounts will not initiate contact with a third party. The authorization will remain active until you contact our office to have it removed.
Student Account Balance and Due Dates
Students will receive an email at their official university email account mid August and mid December to advise their term student account can be viewed online. To avoid late fees and interest charges, the fall term runs Sept. to Dec. 2025, and tuition and fees for the fall term, including residence, are due in full September 16, 2025. The winter term runs Jan. to Apr. 2026, and tuition and fees for the winter term, including residence, are due in full January 22, 2026.
Paying Tuition and Fees
King’s students have options when it comes to paying their tuition and fees:
Student Loans— Students applying for a government loan must use the University of King’s College as their official educational institution. Students apply online through the province they are a permanent resident of and should do so at least two months before the start of classes, (including out of province students). All tuition and fees (including residence, if applicable) as it appears on ones student account, will be deducted from the amount of the student loan at the time of disbursement. Students who are obtaining a student loan for the fall and winter terms must be fully registered upfront for the fall and winter terms before their fall student loan will process for payment. Students are responsible for payment of their student account for any registration changes made thereafter.
External Funding— Students who are receiving an external scholarship and wish to use it as a payment towards their student account, can drop it off at the King’s Student Accounts Office (King’s Arts and Admin. Bldg-2nd Floor). If you have an external scholarship letter that must be completed in order to receive your award, and it is asking for financial information, please email a copy of the official letter to accounts@ukings.ca. If the external scholarship letter is asking for a confirmation of enrolment only, please email registrar@ukings.ca for more assistance. Students who are sponsored must have the organization complete the University’s “Third Party Billing Information Form” which can be obtained online at https://ukings.ca/admissions/finances/financial-aid/external-funding/
Regular Payments— Methods include debit, cheque, money order, bank draft made payable to ‘The University of King’s College’, as well as online bill payments. (Please note: credit card and e-mail money transfers are not accepted).
