SECTION HEADINGS
(click on the heading title below to go straight to that section)
Students should read each of the sections below in their own time.
It is about 30 pages for each Term. These pages have been carefully selected because of their doctrinal depth and richness.
Once they have read all of a section (D&C 1) they mark it as completed on the website mySeminary.churchofjesuschrist.org

Here's an idea for what you might like to give your students so they know which chapters to read. There's also a space for writing their Personal Goal. Feel free to design your own and share it on our Facebook page.
Each student will set and monitor their own personal scripture study goals. See below for some examples.
Students do not report their goals to the teacher and they will not be tracked in WISE.
Teachers should encourage and support students in their efforts to complete their goals.
Personal Goals are not marked WISE
Students may choose to track their own goals on the mySeminary website page.
Examples of Personal Goals
Reading the assigned Come, Follow Me chapters.
Reading passages in the Book of Mormon
Daily reading with a focus (there is an example of a focus in the image above of "Ponder how my study of the scriptures has helped me Hear Him".)
From President Henry B. Eyring:
"To do this well will require more personal, individual attention from teachers. It will add a burden, but it is a burden teachers should be glad to carry because their personal ministries are as important as their classroom instruction. If anyone can do it, your teachers can. They are wonderful."
Students are to record their own progress with the Reading Requirements on WISE.
To do this, students go to the website mySeminary.churchofjesuschrist.org
They will then Sign In with their Church Username and Password.
They will be able to mark their Readings progress on charts that look similar to this:
If students do not mark their own Readings on WISE...
Teachers can mark the Readings on WISE also. If students have completed ALL of their Readings, click the small box beside their name under the Reading tab (see image).
If students have completed SOME of their Readings, click on their name so that their details appear (see image). You can then click the different books they have finished.
There is no longer a Seminary app. Instead, students can create their own button (or icon) on their Home Screens to tap on their devices to go straight to their mySeminary page.
To do this, on a device go to the website: mySeminary.churchofjesuschrist.org
Sign In.
You should see a screen similar to this :
If you look at the very bottom - you will see a line of blue that says "Add MySeminary to Home Screen".
Click on the blue line.
You will then receive instructions on how to load a button onto your Home Screen. It is slightly different for Android and Apple phones.
FOR ANDROID DEVICES
You should have a box pop up that asks if you would like to "Install app".
Click "Install"
FOR APPLE DEVICES
Tap the upload icon.
Tap "Add to Home Screen"
Tap "Add"
Note:
It may take a couple of days for the students to be able to use this button/icon on their device and mark their Readings. The devices & WISE seem to need some time to "talk" to each other. All of my students were able to start marking their Readings after a day or two.
If your would like to email these instructions to students or parents, download this file:
Reading requirements changed in 2023. We base all Makeup Readings on the NEW Required Readings.
Please discuss with each student individually what readings they should read to allow them to makeup for a previous year. You may like to take into account how much they read earlier. Remember - they can listen to them on the Gospel Library app also.
