Students from 5N1 and 5N2 ran a food drive in school to collect food items for the elderly at Ju Eng Home in Jalan Kayu. They also spurred the school community to contribute food items that the elderly need which included rice, Kopi O packets and biscuits. They also wrote notes and cards for the elderly which will be shown to them in the wards. Their efforts were driven by aims to make the Lunar New Year a special one for the elderly and develop empathy for the elderly living in Ju Eng Home. We would like to thank the 5N students and FT’s for their effort in spreading a little kindness this festive season.

Students of 4N3 chose to work on a VIA Project closer to heart. They conducted a donation drive for the Unsung Heroes in school which included a hamper and appreciation cards. The students also interacted with the Unsung Heroes in NV to find out about the work they do and how they can show care and respect for our non-teaching staff.

Lunar New Year Concert With The Elderly

Vistarians from Class 3N3 volunteered with the elderly from SASCO@Sengkang during our recent Lunar New Year Concert. The students served as guides to the elderly during the concert and also participated in the celebrations alongside them.  This session made the celebrations a lot more meaningful for all Vistarians. We are sure it was also a wonderful experience for the elderly to have the opportunity to spend the Lunar New Year with our students.

Activity Time With The Elderly

Vistarians from Class 3N2 volunteered with the elderly from SASCO@Sengkang and curated activities like Bingo and Crossword Puzzles at the SASCO Daycare Centre. These activities were meticulously chosen to promote memory work among the elderly residents. These inculcated a sense of empathy in Vistarians as they learnt the values of care and respect for the elderly in our society.

Donation Drive For Migrant Workers

Our Secondary 4T students worked in partnership with It's Raining Raincoats, an initiative that offers aid to Singapore's migrant worker community. They ran a school collection drive for migrant workers and collected items that would address migrant workers' needs. These were later brought to the InspIRRe Store where migrant workers could come by and pick up items they could use.

Through this project, our students were able to witness the direct impact of their efforts on the lives of migrant workers, and were inspired to do more for the community moving forward.
