PURPLE STAR SCHOOLS

The Purple Star School Award recognizes schools that show a major commitment to students and families connected to our nation’s military. A school is honored with the Purple Star Award if it completes all of the required activities and at least one optional activity. Purple Star schools must conduct the required and optional activities on an annual basis. 

Nevada's Purple Star Schools receive a special Purple Star recognition to display in their buildings, are recognized on the Nevada Department of Education web page and social media platforms, and are highlighted by the various military installations across the state.

A Purple Star School District is a school district that has had every district school named as a Purple Star School. District level staff have also taken the required course and they have built a strong relationship with the military installations in their county.
