Description: Demolition of more 25% of the primary façade on a Contributing rated, two-story, two-family residential building.

Staff Recommendations: 

Based on FEMA Survey research 6028 Benjamin was constructed from 1925-35 in the period of significance. However, the building does not show up on Fire Insurance Maps until 1951. At that time, the dashed line at the front of the building denotes a two story portion condition. The building has retained its form, massing, and details through preservation. The encapsulation of the front porches and the alteration of the entry sequence would greatly impact the integrity of the well maintained block face. Staff does not believe the alteration of the front elevation to be appropriate.
