Description: Demolition of more than 25% of the primary façade of a Contributing rated, one-story, single-family residential building.

Staff Recommendations:

FEMA survey research indicates the original single-shotgun type building was estimated to have been constructed around 1910-20 within the districts period of significance. However, it doesn't appear on a Fire Insurance map in 1937. The front façade is indicative of the block face of the 2000 block of Foucher. The applicant is requesting to alter approximately 32.3% of the façade, including creating a recessed entrance. The alteration of more that 25% of the primary façade considerably alters the historic character of the building and the rhythm of the streetscape. The Staff recommends denial of the demolition of more than 25% of the primary façade.
