About NNVNA

The Near North Valley Neighborhood Association (NNVNA) is a city-recognized neighborhood association established in 1990 and powered by volunteers.  NNVNA’s purpose is to protect, preserve and enhance the community through organized, inclusive volunteer efforts.

NNVNA is made up of your neighbors—residents, businesses, schools, churches, government and cultural institutions, and other property owners—who volunteer their time to advocate for and be a voice for our neighborhood.

Over the years, NNVNA’s focus has been on land use, quality of life, and social/environmental justice issues.  We have been involved in major roadway projects, park and trail improvements, zoning issues, community clean-ups, and issues impacting housing and homelessness.  We sponsor candidate forums.  NNVNA works collaboratively with local institutions and businesses, and other neighborhood groups, and actively encourages everyone to share ideas and input on area issues.

NNVNA is governed by a 15-member Board of Directors.  Generally, the Board meets monthly on the second Wednesday each month.  Board meetings are held via Zoom or in-person with a Zoom option.  An Annual Meeting of the membership is held during April or May each year.  All meetings are open to any interested person.

NNVNA publishes a monthly e-bulletin.  Contact us at NearNorthValleyNA@gmail.com if you would like to receive this e-bulletin.

NNVNA membership is open to (1) persons 18 years or older who live or own property within NNVNA boundaries, (2) persons aged 15 to 17 who live within the boundaries, and (3) businesses, institutions, and organizations that own property or operate within the boundaries.

NNVNA's boundaries, which contain approximately 3000 addresses, are:

North:  Candelaria Road

South:  Interstate 40

East:  BNSF Railroad Tracks
