Social & Emotional Support Services for Students

New Milford High School aims to provide services that optimize the growth, development, and success of all students. Our support service team is composed of Licensed School Counselors, Social Workers, and Psychologists. Students are welcome to walk-in or schedule appointments to discuss a wide range of topics including academics, college and career planning, and social/emotional issues. The NMHS team also provides lists of outside resources when students require a deeper level of support.

School Psychologists and Social Workers are licensed members of the NMHS team that support students' ability to learn and teachers' ability to teach. They apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior, to help our students succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally.

School Social Workers help parents, students, and school staff identify and address the student-needs that interfere with learning, helping students find and access the services they require. Social Workers work with general and special education students and their families to resolve social, emotional, and behavioral problems.
