Each term, you will receive a notification to acknowledge your contract to teach. NLU prides itself on competitive course-based compensation and we pay faculty on the last day of every month. Course compensation is spread over the months the course is offered, in equal installments. When a course has less than 5 registrations, your contract may be converted to a course-by-arrangement and you will receive a contract closer to the term; we will inform you of this as soon as possible.
Large General Education sections have an additional per-student stipend contract that will be initiated after the add/drop period (approximately 1.5 weeks into the course); you will be notified of these contracts prior to the start of the course. The acceptance of your contract is required and you will, unfortunately, not be paid if you fail to do so.
For FT faculty and staff teaching overload in their programs, please request approval from your Dean (Graduate courses) and/or for Undergraduate courses, please consult your Chair and cc: your Online Director and Ewa Politanska or Katarzyna Sosnowska (NCE-only). This approval will be needed each term that you are teaching for a contract to be initiated.
