Pilot public health research delivery support service

The service continues to develop throughout the pilot, so the examples below are only some of the ways we can support you. We will adapt and evolve to meet any new delivery support needs identified. 

Examples of current support: 

• Identify organisations that want to participate in research projects and broker relationships 

• Provide resources to support the setup and delivery of research, including template documents for data sharing  

• Support with costing research being delivered in settings outside the NHS through the local authority research costing tool

• Provide hands on support to navigate research governance processes and complete documentation required for governance reviews in different organisations 

The pilot support service has been developed in partnership with stakeholders including local authorities, schools, voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations and universities, alongside NIHR Partners and Integrated Care Boards.  

We are also working together with the Research Delivery Network (RDN) to strengthen and streamline the overall offer to public health research delivery outside the NHS, and together we offer enhanced delivery support for this research.  

Who is it for? 

The pilot support service is open to all queries, even if you are not sure what support you need or what support is available. If you are a researcher or organisation involved in public health research outside the NHS, please get in touch.

We support research involving population-level interventions and research that involves data outside the NHS. We work closely with the RDN to provide additional support to public health studies that are on the RDN portfolio if appropriate.  

If you are unsure whether your research qualifies for support, please get in touch. It is important for us to understand what support is needed so we can take a flexible and responsive approach as we progress though the pilot.
