The SCPH is funded for, and committed to, delivering research governance and ethics related projects. These projects aim to support local authorities and those working with local authorities to do research in a robust way.
Core research governance and ethics projects that we are delivering within our current funding period (2023-2028) include:
Creating a repository of research governance and ethics resources (e.g. guidance, example frameworks, templates and tools).
Exploring options for a registry of public health research (or research on the wider determinants of health) happening outside of the NHS.
Our scoping work with local authority colleagues highlighted other projects we could develop to further support local authority research governance and ethics.
We now want to work with local authorities to prioritise these additional projects and determine which to take forward over the next 2 to 3 years.
If you are working in, or with, a local authority on research we would like you to help us prioritise our research governance and ethics activity.
Please complete our prioritisation survey to tell us which research governance and ethics projects we should concentrate on between now and September 2028.
