Foundational Certificate Courses

Level 1 introduces students to basic herbal knowledge, natural wellness principles, safety, preparation methods, biblical wellness foundations, and responsible personal or family use.

Designed for:

• Beginning herbal students

• Families and homemakers

• Personal enrichment

• Students preparing for further study

Representative courses:

• Kitchen Herbalist

• Family Herbalist

• Christian Herbalist Foundations

Students who successfully complete an eligible Level 1 course may receive a Certificate of Completion for that course.

Applied Certificate and Diploma Courses

Level 2 expands foundational learning into applied herbal education, community wellness, ministry education, anatomy and physiology, and specialized wellness subjects.

Designed for:

• Students building applied knowledge

• Community wellness educators

• Ministry leaders

• Students preparing for advanced herbal study

Representative programs:

• Community Herbalist

• Canine Herbalist Coach

• Flower Essence Coach

• Integrated Anatomy and Physiology

• Faith-Based Wellness Ministry

The credential awarded depends upon the requirements and designation of the individual program. Completion of a Level 2 program does not automatically grant Professional Registry status.

Advanced Certificate and Diploma Programs 

Level 3 provides deeper study in herbal wellness, body systems, traditional knowledge, faith-centered herbalism, formulation, safety, research, and responsible educational support.

Designed for:

• Serious herbal students

• Wellness educators

• Ministry-based herbal educators

• Students preparing for practitioner-level study

Representative programs:

• Wellness Herbalist

• Holistic Christian Herbalist

Students completing an eligible Level 3 program may receive the certificate, diploma, or educational designation identified in that program’s official description.

Completion does not automatically grant Professional Registry status.

🌾LEVEL 4 — Practitioner Diploma Programs

Advanced Professional-Development Education

Practitioner-level diploma programs provide structured advanced education for students seeking comprehensive herbal and natural wellness formation.

Current NHMEC practitioner-level standards may include:

• Up to 1,500 documented educational hours

• Required coursework and readings

• Written assignments and assessments

• Fifteen case studies

• Practicum participation

• Client-support encounters within educational scope

• Monthly roundtables

• Capstone integration

• Code of Ethics agreement

• Four-year completion window

Representative diploma programs:

• Custom Herbal Practitioner

• Functional Herbal Foundations

• Christian Herbal Wellness Practitioner

• Holistic P.E.N. Way™ Practitioner

• Evidence-Informed Herbalist Practitioner

Successful completion may result in a Diploma of Completion and the educational designation identified for that program.

Practitioner-level education does not grant medical licensure or permission to practice a regulated healthcare profession.

🌟 LEVEL 5— Specialist Programs

Focused Advanced Diploma Education

Specialist programs provide concentrated study in a defined area of herbal or natural wellness education.

Representative program:

• Antimicrobial Herbal Specialist

Completion may result in an Advanced Diploma of Completion and the educational designation identified for the program.
