Admissions

Natural Health Ministries Education Center welcomes students seeking faith-centered herbal, natural wellness, ministry, personal-enrichment, and professional-development education.

Admission requirements vary according to the course or program selected.

Who May Enroll

NHMEC programs may be appropriate for:

• Beginning and experienced herbal students

• Adults seeking personal or family herbal education

• Ministry and community wellness educators

• Students pursuing certificate or diploma programs

• Students seeking advanced professional-development education

General PENothecary™ membership does not require previous herbal education. Some advanced certificate, diploma, practitioner, and specialist programs may require prior coursework or approval before enrollment.

Age and Educational Requirements

Unless otherwise stated:

• Students must be at least 18 years old to enroll independently in professional-level programs.

• Students under 18 may participate in approved personal-enrichment education with parent or guardian permission.

• A high school diploma or equivalent may be required for certain advanced or professional programs.

• Individual program pages will identify any additional educational requirements.

Program Prerequisites

Some programs may require:

• Completion of an earlier NHMEC course or level

• Previous herbal or natural wellness education

• Orientation completion

• Acceptance of NHMEC policies and ethical standards

• Approval from NHMEC before beginning advanced study

Students should review the requirements listed on the individual program page before enrolling.

Technology Requirements

Students must have:

• An active Google account

• Reliable internet access

• Access to a computer, tablet, or compatible mobile device

• A current internet browser

• The ability to view documents, videos, and online course materials

• An email address checked regularly for NHMEC communication

A Facebook account is required only for participation in the PENothecary™ Facebook Secret Community.

Tuition Responsibility

Students are responsible for reviewing and paying all applicable:

• Tuition

• Membership fees

• Textbook costs

• Supply and kit costs

• Practicum-related expenses

• Registry fees

• Other clearly stated program costs

Natural Health Ministries Education Center does not currently offer scholarships.

Enrollment Process

1. Select a Program

Review the NHMEC Learning Pathways and choose the course, certificate, diploma, practitioner, or specialist program that best fits your educational goals.

2. Review Requirements and Tuition

Before enrolling, review:

• Admission requirements

• Program prerequisites

• Tuition and payment terms

• Required textbooks and supplies

• Completion timeline

• Assessments and passing requirements

• Credential awarded

• Professional Registry eligibility, when applicable

3. Complete Enrollment

Submit the required enrollment form, registration information, payment, and any additional documents requested for the selected program.

4. Receive Access Information

Approved students receive instructions for accessing the private PENothecary™ Membership Learning Hub and any applicable membership community.

5. Complete Orientation

Students must complete the required orientation before beginning structured certificate, diploma, practitioner, or specialist coursework.

6. Begin Coursework

After orientation is completed, students may begin their assigned lessons, readings, activities, and assessments according to the program instructions.

Required Orientation

The NHMEC orientation prepares students to use the online learning environment responsibly and successfully.

Orientation includes:

• How to access and navigate the PENothecary™ Learning Hub

• How to locate classes, lessons, and resources

• Program expectations and completion requirements

• How to submit assignments

• How assessments are completed

• How to request academic or technical assistance

• Student responsibilities

• Code of Ethics

• Scope-of-practice boundaries

• Educational and non-licensure policies

• Membership and community guidelines

• Withdrawal and refund information

Completion of orientation may be documented as part of the student’s educational record.

Academic Advising

NHMEC provides educational guidance to help students understand and complete their learning pathway.

Academic advising may include:

• Program-selection assistance

• Course-sequence guidance

• Clarification of assignments

• Help locating required resources

• Progress reviews

• Completion planning

• Practicum and portfolio guidance

• Continuing-education recommendations

Academic advising is educational in nature and does not guarantee graduation, employment, professional certification, Registry approval, or eligibility for outside licensure.

Christian Counseling and Pastoral Support

NHMEC may provide limited faith-centered encouragement, Christian counseling support, pastoral support, prayer, and appropriate referral guidance.

Celita Eden, LPCA, PhD

Volunteer Christian Counseling Support

Celita Eden provides volunteer Christian counseling support within the boundaries of her credentials, assigned role, and applicable professional standards.

Min. Penny Lane Whittemore

Licensed and Ordained Minister

Min. Penny Lane Whittemore may provide pastoral encouragement, prayer, spiritual guidance, and faith-centered student support within the scope of ministry service.

These services do not replace:

• Emergency services

• Crisis intervention

• Medical care

• Psychiatric care

• Psychological care

• Legal services

• Ongoing treatment from a licensed healthcare professional

NHMEC does not provide emergency or crisis services. Individuals experiencing an emergency should contact 911 or the appropriate emergency or licensed professional services in their area.

Technical Support

NHMEC provides basic assistance for students and members experiencing access or navigation problems.

Technical support may include:

• PENothecary™ Google Sites access

• Google account access instructions

• Facebook Secret Community access

• Login assistance

• Help locating course materials

• Broken-link reporting

• General navigation assistance

Students should submit technical-support requests through the designated NHMEC support email or website contact form.

NHMEC seeks to respond to student and technical-support requests within two business days, excluding holidays, emergencies, and announced closures.

Technical support does not include repairing a student’s personal computer, mobile device, internet connection, email account, Google account, or Facebook account.

Accessibility and Reasonable Accommodations

Natural Health Ministries Education Center seeks to provide reasonable access to its online educational programs.

Students may request reasonable educational accommodations related to accessibility or learning needs. Requests should be submitted as early as possible and may require enough information for NHMEC to understand the requested support.

Reasonable accommodations may include:

• Extended assessment time

• Alternative document formats

• Larger-print materials

• Written transcripts when available

• Adjusted assignment formats

• Reasonable deadline adjustments

Accommodations cannot remove essential program requirements, eliminate required competencies, or fundamentally change the nature of a course or program.

Educational and Non-Licensure Notice

Natural Health Ministries Education Center is a private, faith-based, non-licensure educational institution.

NHMEC programs do not grant medical licensure or authorize students or graduates to diagnose disease, prescribe treatment, practice medicine, or claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease.

Students are responsible for understanding the educational requirements, professional boundaries, and laws that apply to their intended activities.
