Founded by Mrs Norelle Teoh in November 2001 and registered as a public vocational and academic education institution in Singapore under the Ministry of Education (MOE), the National Theory College (NTC) was established as both a post-secondary and post-tertiary vocational and academic college in Singapore which focuses on conducting both hands-on and academic training to students of all categories, with an objective/aim to provide better employment opportunities for students' career success in the future. There are also upskilling opportunities for students and adult learners who are keen to learn a new skill with our wide variety of certification courses.

NTC offers the full-time NTC Skills Certificate (NSC) qualification for special education students of specialised institutions, school-leavers, working adults and adult learners who wish to learn basic skills, regardless of their employment status, part-time courses for school-leavers, students who were denied admissions into full-time courses, working adults and adult learners who are employed, but were previously denied admissions into full-time courses, Traineeship courses for students of specialized schools, graduating secondary school GCE 'N' & 'O' Level holders, school-leavers with relevant qualifications and adult learners who are unemployed, but seeking for employment, full-time NTC Certificate courses for NTC Skills Certificate progression graduates, ITE's Nitec graduates, GCE N and O-Level graduates, Higher NTC Certificate courses for NTC Skills Certificate holders, NTC Certificate progression graduates, ITE's Nitec and Higher Nitec graduates, GCE N and O-Level graduates, Academic Diploma courses for both NTC Certificate and Higher NTC Certificate graduates, ITE's Nitec and Higher Nitec graduates and working adults with relevant qualifications and lastly, our very own Work-Study Diploma courses for both NTC Certificate and Higher NTC Certificate graduates, ITE's Nitec and Higher Nitec graduates and working adults with strong employer endorsement.

Progressively, NTC will offer Higher Diploma courses for all NTC Certificate, Higher NTC Certificate, NTC's Academic Diploma and Work-Study Diploma graduates, ITE and Polytechnic graduates to upgrade and enhance their skills beyond their current academic qualifications. Additionally, NTC will also be launching new Academic Degree courses within the next few years for our Academic Diploma and Higher Diploma graduates who were denied admission into the Universities, which serve as an alternative option once the academic structure and course curriculum have been planned, decided and implemented accordingly. We also welcome ITE, Polytechnics and private Diploma graduates of any institution to apply for our Academic Degree programmes once it has been launched.

With these implementations in mind, NTC hopes to serve as an additional or alternative route for graduates who could not qualify or do not wish to progress for admission into full-time University Degree courses. Additionally, NTC aims to provide an alternative educational pathway to help graduates who were previously denied admission into the Universities, to be awarded an Academic Degree qualification progressively, after completion of NTC's certification courses.
