Early Admissions Exercise (EAE)
For NTC Certificate and Higher NTC Certificate Courses
As the Covid-19 situation have eased, we've eased measures on our premises. Classes will be held on campus, but mask-wearing is optional.
For NTC Certificate and Higher NTC Certificate Courses
What is NTC EAE?
The NTC Early Admissions Exercise (NTC EAE) is an aptitude-based admissions exercise. If you have strong aptitude and passion in a field related to an NTC Certificate or a Higher NTC Certificate course, then the NTC EAE is certainly the right scheme for you. We will also consider your relevant work experience and your achievements in sports, arts, leadership, entrepreneurship and community service as part of the admission procedure.
If you are a student from a Specialised School in the Normal Technical stream (SSNT), you will have an added advantage if you apply to a course that is related to your NTC Skills Subject Certificate (NSSC).
The application process involves an interview for each of your course choices (if you are shortlisted).
If your application is successful, you will receive a conditional offer in August 2023 for admission into one of your course choices under the April 2024 intake.
Your place in the course will be automatically confirmed if you choose to accept the conditional offer and your GCE N/O-Level or final NTC Certificate examination results meet the Minimum Entry Requirements of the course.
Who Can Apply
For GCE N/O-Level Students:
Singapore Citizens (SC) and Singapore Permanent Residents (SPR) who have registered to sit for the GCE N/O-Level examinations in the year of the NTC EAE application;
International Students (IS) enrolled in Government, Government-aided and Independent Schools during the year of the NTC EAE application, and who have registered to sit for the GCE N/O-Level examinations in the year of the NTC EAE application;
SC and SPR who have sat for the GCE N/O-Level examinations previously; and
SC and SPR working adults with at least 2 years of relevant work experience may also apply.
OR
For NTC Certificate Progression Students:
SC, SPR and IS full-time NTC Certificate or Traineeship students who will graduate in the same NTC academic year as the NTC EAEP;
SC and SPR who have graduated from NTC full-time NTC Certificate or Traineeship courses; and
SC and SPR working adults with NTC Certificate qualification and at least 2 years of relevant work experience may also apply.
Direct Entry to 2nd Year of Higher NTC Certificate Course
NTC Certificate students who wish to apply for direct entry to the 2nd year of Higher NTC Certificate courses should apply to Higher NTC Certificate courses that are mapped to their NTC Certificate course. Successful NTC EAE-P applicants will be given a conditional offer for admission into the 1st year of the Higher NTC Certificate course. Subsequently, students who meet the minimum GPA requirement for direct entry into the 2nd year of mapped Higher NTC Certificate courses will be considered for direct entry into the 2nd year (subject to merit and vacancies) of the chosen mapped course, alongside other NTC Certificate students who have applied through the NTC Certificate Progression to Higher NTC Certificate Intake Exercise (NCPHN). NTC Certificate students who are seeking direct entry into the 2nd year of a Higher NTC Certificate course should note that the NTC EAE-P conditional offer does not guarantee admission into the 2nd year of the Higher NTC Certificate course, even if their final NTC Certificate results meet the eligibility criteria as places are limited.
OR
ITE graduates with relevant Nitec or Higher Nitec qualifications and working adults with at least 1 to 2 years of related work experience may also apply for NTC Certificate and Higher NTC Certificate courses under the NTC Early Admissions Exercise (NTC EAE), but subject to the available vacancies in the courses applied.
