My name is Nara M. Figueiredo, I'm a researcher and professor at the department of philosophy of the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) and collaborating researcher at the Center of Logic, Epistemology and History of Science, at the Estate University of Campinas (CLE- Unicamp).
My research focus is on the Philosophy of mind and brain, more specifically on Enactivism and Language. My academic history is mainly on the philosophy of language, metaphilosophy and epistemology.
Since 2015 I have been dedicated to the philosophy of cognitive science. Firstly in post-doctoral research at the University of São Paulo - FFLCH-USP, when I worked on mental representations in cognitive neuroscience. Then, when I worked as a visiting researcher at the Center for Integrative Neuroscience and Neurodynamics - CINN, at the University of Reading, in the United Kingdom (June 2017 to June 2018), developing empirical and theoretical research focusing on visual perception and enactive perspectives. During this period, I also worked on encouraging interdisciplinary research. In 2019, as a researcher at Unifesp, I delved into the enactive understanding of human cognition and some epistemological issues.
I have a bachelor's degree from the State University of Campinas - IFCH / UNICAMP, a master's and doctor's degree in Philosophy from the State University of São Paulo - FFLCH / USP (2015).
