New title splash
Substantial updates for a couple of FF's new African Adventure assets - by the way, keep an eye out for these in a standalone format in the near future!
Added and revised several map location icons
Fixed male Carnotaurus's disabled adoption icon
Ankylosaurus, Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus now have Tropical Rainforest as a secondary biome
Changed the green sea turtle's conservation status to Lower Risk/Least Concern
Updated giraffe taxonomy and a visual oversight in the elephant seal's Zoopedia
Walruses and elephant seals barking at each other should no longer upset guests (carried over from Vanilla-Friendly Fixes and the Ultimate Collection Booster Pack)
Added conservation statuses for the pink lady's slipper, scythian lamb, and agave cactus
The small savannah burrow should be less finicky now
Fossil Ridge's location, name and description on the map selection screen have been fixed
Giant ground sloths' Savannah biome sensitivity has been upped, reflecting the biome being listed as a "secondary biome" in its Zoopedia entry
Subtle fixes to a couple of plant models
Lang tweaks
Removed remnants of an unfinished hidden section of the Zoopedia
Hippos can no longer eat meat
Slightly revamped skins for chimpanzees, including different skins for adults and babies
Slight aardvark skin edits
The skins for the hippopotamus and Deinosuchus from the initial release version of Folksy Facelift have been brought back as variants
Fixed flashing young Triceratops (11/2/2024 update: if you installed this update using Format 1 before 11/2/2024, please reinstall, this change was mistakenly not added to the installer)
In a bid to try and curb some compatability issues with other mods, the main .z2f file for Folksy Facelift now has a few "z"s in front of it. This is the reason for the notice on the download page warning that users should uninstall old versions of FF before installing this new version.
The leaves for the East African rosewood tree will now blow in the wind
Separated changes for the Asiatic black bear bonus download, which many users do not have, into a separate patch for those who have the animal
Fully-implemented small savannah burrow
Ten new trees and twelve new plants
Tyrannosaurus will now fight Triceratops and Ankylosaurus instead of dully hunting them
Implemented beta models for toadstools
A new map
Total reevaluation of animal and foliage biomes and preferences, including animals being able to live in some biomes as comfortably as they can their "primary" ones; animals with "secondary" biomes have them listed in their Zoopedia entries.
Facelifts for grizzly bears, polar bears, Bengal tigers, jaguars, hippos, Tyrannosaurus, Carnotaurus, Ankylosaurus, short-faced bears, Deinonychus, Deinosuchus, Dimetrodon, Doedicurus, dodos, elephant birds and Kentrosaurus. Some of these, like the jaguar, are fairly subtle, while others, like the short-faced bear and Ankylosaurus, are drastic
Major redesigns for the Alpine, Scrub and Wetlands biomes
For the purpose of visibility over realism, several ambients that were shrunk down in the initial release have been scaled up, either back to numbers from the original game or to a middle ground
Similarly, the ring-tailed lemur, fennec fox, meerkat and Protarchaeopteryx are larger for functionality reasons
"Large" female guests may now leave zoos properly
Material fixes for "large" educators
Super Triceratops and Styracosaurus will now build super nests and lay super eggs that will hatch into super offspring
Changes to location codenames to account for challenge and campaign oversights
The "skirts" for Pelagic and Reef maps now reflect the biomes' edited textures
The lingonberries have been moved to the Boreal Forest biome
Certain apes have been slightly resized
Reevaluation of foliage recolors, subtler and hopefully not as garish
Adjustments to the Desert biome
Material edits for several plants and tree leaves to help them look fuller from afar
Tree sorting filters for angiosperms ("hardwoods") and gymnosperms ("softwoods")
Edits to some of the cruder location icons introduced in Folksy Facelift
Brighter biome colors on the map overview screen
Tweaks to Benthic water materials, much darker underwater when not lit
Other small tweaks
"Large" female guests may now leave zoos properly (6/1/23 addendum: I forgot to actually implement this for this release)
The lingonberries have been moved to the Boreal Forest biome (6/1/23 addendum: this too)
Preliminary implementation for small savannah burrows, which are unused in the final game; be aware that they don't really function or have much of a purpose yet (6/1/23 addendum: ...and this)
Certain apes have been slightly resized (6/1/23 addendum: ...and... this... good grief this release was botched)
The Koobi Fora map may now be played properly in Challenge Mode
Dodo rocks, jars with fish and ice blocks may now be kicked in Guest Mode
Refitted the new "large" staff variants with proper staff rigs; zookeepers using the new models can now refill food dishes, hooray! Their LODs have also been reworked slightly to make them look slightly less odd from afar
Tweaked locations for the sedge grass, dandelions and yellow ipe tree
Guest gates can no longer be exploited for free moolah
Tweaked the prices for the aardvark, red kangaroo and saber-toothed cat
Added proper okapi sexual dimorphism (oops - is this how Frontier felt about screwing up fixing the JP3 raptors?)
Theropods can eat dinosaur meat again, thanks to horse14t for providing a fix
Fixes and QOL changes to an easter egg, thanks again to horse14t for providing the fixes
Lang tweaks
Modified icons for several extinct animals
Proper icon for the guest gate
Removed horns from female okapi, thanks to horse14t for providing the hornless okapi model
Reduced the udders of the female aurochs
Curb textures for the wood path are actually implemented now (they were supposed to be in the initial release but I deleted them by accident, oops)
Zoopedia entries for the 'no feeding' sign and live fish prey
Dodos may no longer eat shrimp
Misc. lang tweaks and fixes
