About the Guru

Ms. Manjari Aggarwal :

Manjari Agrawal is an artist, illustrator, and an art educator. She graduated in Fine Arts (Painting) from Government College of Arts, Chandigarh in 2003 and completed her master’s degree in Art Conservation & Restoration from the National Museum Institute, New Delhi.

Currently she is working as an art educator at a school based in Ghaziabad. She is the author and illustrator of the children’s book titled ‘Nanhe Jasoos’ in Hindi (also translated in English), published by the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi.

About the Workshop:

The painting workshop will give a glimpse of the different paintings in the collection of National Gallery of Modern Art. Children will be encouraged to use their imagination and take inspiration from the artworks of great artists.

Material required:

Following are the things that will be required for the workshop:

1. A4 size Pastel sheets in white and 4-5 different colours

2. Newspaper/ old Magazine papers

3. Glue

4. Sketch pens/ crayons/ oil pastels/ pencil colours/ poster colours/ acrylic paints etc.

Children are free to use any medium (colours) of their choice.

5. Scissors (small and child appropriate)

6. Optional- decorative material (in case children want to enhance their artwork)

(*) Please Note: This workshop seeks to develop an interest in children for art, museums, and the legacy of artwork by our great Indian artists. The workshop aims to encourage imagination, creativity, and originality of the child.
