About the Guru:

Shri Gaurang Garg

A Delhi based artist who completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A) from College of Art, in printmaking and Master of fine Arts (M.F.A) from Jamia Millia Islamia, in printmaking. His work is in collection of International Print centre New York (IPCNY 20). He has been a part of various Residency program- Paris, France by Atelier Centrepoint for 3 months in Nov. 2019. France. He was selected as Assistant Artist for the workshop of “Mezzot’India 2018” (The First International Mezzo Print Art Festival) which organized by Parivartan in Siwan, Bihar Oct. 2018.

About the Workshop:

This workshop will do some experimental work with the help of coloured papers (collage technique) and stencil printing. In collage technique, use of some coloured chart paper or pastel paper is required. A layout of student’s choice will be made. Drawing inspiration from the paintings of eminent artist such as Jamini Roy, M.F. Hussain, H A Gade, the students will be guided on how to work the help of colours, image creation and aesthetic senses.

1) A3 SIZE Sheet and A4 size sheet -Super white cartridges

2) Coloured paper - chart paper/ pastel paper.

About the Guru:

Shri Ananda Moy Banerji

He is one of the leading modern prodigies of the modern art world – Print making. He has exhibited in numerous shows in India and abroad including number of Solo shows in –Gallery Espace, The British Council and Lalit Kala Akademi – New Delhi. He has participated in numerous exhibitions (Annuals, Biennials, Triennials) in India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Japan, Korea, Germany, UK, USA, China, Newzeland, Canada, Russia, Greece, Egypt, Norway including- Xth Triennial-India, and First Print Biennial – organized by Lalit Kala Akademi-India. He is recipient of various awards which includes – Annual best exhibit awards – A. I. F.A. C. S – New Delhi. Charles Wallace India Trust Award – 1996. Nagasawa art park residency award – Japan – 2001. He is a regular speaker of art and printmaking. He Has been part of various talks and workshops at various levels. An active founder member of Indian Printmakers Guild (1990 - 2001), and Multiple Encounters (2004 till date). His works are in the collection of various Galleries, Institutions, Museums, Akademis, and several private collections.

About the Workshop:

Printmaking is a technique of art making carried on by transferring ink from a prepared screen to a sheet of paper or other material. This process enables the production of multiples of the same image.

The program includes form of traditional and experimental print making i.e., Linocut. The workshop includes a comprehensive understanding of the technique and procedure involved in the printmaking practices.

Materials required:

Soft cut lino, linocut tools, ink roller, printing ink, smooth cartridge paper spoon tracing paper, pencil, pens and rubber.
