Keryn Lientschnig - Cello/Double Bass

After trying her hand at toy piano, drums (much to the annoyance of fences between her primary school and home) and percussion (aka Mum’s Saucepan Lids), Keryn decided to be more adventurous and turned her attention to learning the ‘cello in Year 7, something that she is still in the process of doing. Having completed her tertiary instrumental studies at the Victorian College of the Arts, she turned to performing and teaching 'cello. In her spare time, when not in lockdown, Keryn is usually found playing in the pit with the Melbourne Opera Orchestra. 2020 has been an important year for Keryn, as this is the year that she began working with the wonderful music team that is the Mount Waverley Secondary College Music Department, where she enjoys watching the progress of young lower string students.
