Ensembles at the College

The college has an extensive range of ensembles to chose from. All students who learn music at the college are required to join an ensemble. Bands, Orchestras and Choirs give students the opportunity to belong to a group of like minded individuals of all different ages. With such a variety offered at Mount Waverley Secondary College, there is a group to suit every individual student despite their musical tastes or abilities.

These ensembles play many concerts both within the school community and beyond. These include the Annual MWSC Gala Concert, Soirees, Lunchtime Concerts, Assemblies and Open Night. Outside of the college our ensembles participate in competitions and festivals including Generations in Jazz (Mount Gambier), Victorian Schools Music Festival, Victorian State School Spectacular and South Street Eisteddfod. In 2019 the college Symphonic Band and Senior Stage Band traveled to the Australian International Music Festival held in Sydney to play in esteemed venues including the Sydney Opera House.
