Hello Students,
Today marks week two of remote learning. As you start digging deep and doing hard things in your learning, I wanted to talk to you about growth mindset. Growth mindset is the belief that you can learn something new if you put work into it and try hard. A fixed mindset is when you believe that a person either "has it or they don't". You might find you have a fixed mindset if you have said to yourself "I'm not very artistic", or "I'm just bad at math", or "I may as well not try, it's hard and I'm no good" .
Watch the videos below, and then complete the "Growth Mindset Rubric". Then, set a goal for one thing you would like to try this week that will require a growth mindset. Who can you ask for help when you are feeling your "Fixed Mind" creep in?
Lastly, watch the video below, and see if you can identify who has the fixed mindset, and who has the growth mindset? Why? What do you notice about the success of those individuals in each category?
