Despite living in San Bernardino County, I went to elementary school in Pomona. The Pomona School District Board makes decisions directly affecting student well-being and programming. We were given only 3 minutes to speak during the public comment, so I created a small script/pitch summarizing my project and my goal! 

This meeting was a big step forward for my project. I spoke clearly and confidently during my speech, even though I was nervous. I backed my message up with real data, like the study showing 61% of students improved with music therapy compared to only 28% with traditional methods, which helped show that this isn’t just an opinion. I also had a solid petition with student signatures, which showed this wasn’t just my idea but something others care about too.
