My last step before presenting my project to the PUSD board was gathering petitions. I needed to have solid proof that I, along with many others, were fighting for the cause.
I first gave my 30-second pitch to students and parents in the Pomona Unified School District and gathered the signatures of those who agreed with my cause. This petition is asking the school board to consider funding or piloting music therapy programs in our schools. It asks for bringing in trained music therapists or starting music therapy workshops for students.
Even though I didn’t reach 200 signatures, I still had a strong group of students backing the idea
