Hello Ms. Rekdal's children,

I can't believe this is the last week of May!

This school year, we have learned to use our natural, tuneful, singing voices, how to demonstrate a steady marching beat and a steady swinging beat, how to identify Percussion instruments - visually and aurally, we studied "Peter and the Wolf" and learned about the String Family, the Woodwind Family, and the Brass Family. And along the way, learned lots of Finger Rhymes, marching and swinging rhymes, and many, many songs!!

This week, I would like you to see if you can identify what kind of a steady beat is in each of the (3) Barefoot Book songs listed below. Two have a marching beat and one has a swinging beat. If you like, you can complete the included worksheet and send it to me, or simply write out the names of the songs and beside each indicate if the beat "marches" or "swings". Good luck!
