NEW YEAR!
I am 3 trimesters down from my 6 trimester course.
At the end of the 2nd trimester, when I achieved the Diploma Level, I received a GPA of 6.88 (out of a possible 7).
I haven't got my results from the 3rd trimester yet, but they'll be coming. I'm not too worried about failing, I feel I did pretty good in the subjects and should receive at a minimum a passing grade. Hopefully I get higher.
My 2 big things were a VR Project and Crow's Quest.
This video gives you a run down of what happened in trimester 3 within a shirt 10 minute slot. A lot happened, so I couldn't put absolutely everything in because I had a limit as this was part of an assignment.
But we achieved a lot as a class, and boy did the VR project go down well. I didn't get to hear about Crow's Quest, as I was looking after the VR and talking with a lot of people, but from all accounts it went over very well too.
I actually had my Sokoban game on a few computers as well, and it seems to have gotten some good reaction about being addictive and challenging. So that's a plus.
Now that I have finished my New Year celebrations and gotten over Christmas with my family, I'm going to put some time into learning some new things about coding and games. As I haven't actually learnt much about coding, since we had an issue with the content in one of the classes not being delivered properly, I wanted to watch some videos and get my head around some stuff. I'll learn better by following someone making an actual game, rather than just watching videos about functionality.
So I've found this series of videos that I'm going to watch, and Jen will as well. It's supposed to be, from what I understand, a game like Fire Emblem. A Tactical RPG as the name suggests.
I'm hoping that watching this series of videos can become a framework for the basis of a game, where I can make a few levels, test out that it works, and then expand on it if it looks like a viable product. But in any event, it should still give me a basis of how to handle a few things that I currently don't know how to deal with. And I'll be able to take this info into the next trimester.
