The first midterm is on 20th April, its retake is on 11th May. The second midterm is on 1st June and its retake is on 8th June.
General conditions for obtaining signature and grades:
There will be two midterm exams, the grade will be based on the score on these exams (this is a course with only midterms, there is no final exam). The exam is expected to consist of 6 problems and one extra (this is a more difficult problem), each problem is worth 10 points. To pass both midterms, you must achieve 40% of the 60 points, i.e. 24 points.
The mark is calculated as the average of the scores of the two tests (without rounding) according to the following rules: 51 points or better is 5 or Excellent, 42 points or better is 4 or Good , 33 points or more is 3 or Satisfactory, 24 points or better is a Pass, less than 24 or failing one or both midterms is a Fail.
There will be a make-up test for both exams, with the same material and rules as for the midterm exams (Syllabus of retakes is the same as the midterm it is a retake for). The result of this will override the result of the midterm. If the midterm had reached the satisfactory level but the retake midterm does not, then the score will be reduced to the minimum required for passing (40%, i.e. 24 points).
In the make-up week, there will be one more opportunity only for those who have failed exactly one of the midterms previously. Here only one midterm can be retaken and no successful midterm can be corrected.
