Cyberbullying is known as bullying a person/persons through electronic communication whether it be on social media, email, text messages, etc. This includes calling someone names, spreading rumors, saying mean things, threatening, and more. Cyberbullying can be very harmful to the mental health of the victim and can cause them to not be able to function properly due to being self-conscious and depressed.
If cyberbullying occurs in my classroom, there is a zero tolerance policy. Parents will be called, the school's administration will be informed, and the child will lose their technological privileges'. A meeting will be conducted with the students involved, parents, the principal, and me.
If you are a victim of cyberbullying, please tell an adult as soon as possible. It does not matter what is being said or done, tell your parents and me and we will help you. Never retaliate if you are a victim of cyberbullying and please do not keep it to yourself. I am here for you as well as any adult in this school you feel comfortable with.
