Web

Social media is becoming increasingly integrated into the world of journalism and it's important to keep up. Oxford High School maintains four journalism instagram accounts listed as follows: @thechargermediagroup, @thechargeronline, @ohs.evoke, @the_oxford_flashback. The Charger Media Group is also on Facebook, TikTok, and X. Social media allows for us to share and tell our stories to a much wider audience, and get engagement from more people our age.

Social Media

As editor-in-chief, I am logged into the Charger Media Group and the Charger Online Instagram pages. I monitor them both regularly to make sure that all content posted is correct and that there are no spelling/grammatical errors. As an editorial staff, we post regularly about upcoming issues, breaking stories, and sports "pick 'ems."

The Charger Online

As the online editor, I work to make sure that our online edition stays up to date with all of our latest print stories, as well as breaking news stories that need to be reported between monthly editions. To improve audience engagement, I make a poll each month regarding one of our more popular stories. I also keep a side bar on our home page so that viewers can see what our most viewed stories are that month.

Staff Profiles

In this era of journalism, it is critical to make sure that writers are getting due credit for their work. On The Charger Online website, every story has a byline that is linked to each writer's staff profile in which all of the work they've ever written for our paper can be viewed.
