This course covered some of the cons of tracking (grouping students by ability). However, what we did not discuss is how to support a student is is so advanced grade level work is not appropriate. Differentiation only goes so far. I have had the privilege of working with an amazing young man this semester, who far exceeds what is expected in second grade.
