The goal of this assignment was to monitor the mathematical developments of a student over the course of a semester. Then create a documentation panel that illustrates the learning of the student. I completed this assignment while working in Mrs. Hammond's second-grade classroom at McKinley Elementary School. At the beginning of the semester I chose to follow the mathematical development of G., who was performing significantly below grade level. The journal entry link above will take you to the five journal entries written for this assignment. The Student Documentation Panel link above will take you to G.'s documentation. To complete the panel, I utilized problems from Children's Mathematics, Cognitively Guided Instruction and Extending Mathematics, Fractions and Decimals: Innovations in Cognitively Guided Instruction.
