(thanks to "Art with Cassie Stephens" for the idea)
What are we doing? (Objective) - We will explore how we can use lines in a 3D way to make a sculpture
VOCABULARY:
Lines : Zig zag, bumpy, wavy, curly, spiral, broken lines
Sculpture - the art of making three-dimensional forms, that can be realistic or abstract.
Form - Form is one of the seven Elements of Art. A form is a shape in three dimensions, and, like shapes, can be geometric or organic.
MATERIALS: You will need:
White paper, and colored paper ( if you have it)
Crayons, Colored Pencils, Colored Markers
Paper plate (not a foam plate, the glue won't stick!) OR a cardboard circle cut from a cereal box
Scissors and White glue or Glue Stick
String or yarn ( if you have it)
THINK AND DO:
How can you make your art stand up using paper strips?! - Can we fold it? Twist it? How can we make it connect to another? We will do this with paper strips using folds or "TABS" . If you can, ask a brother, sister or cousin at home with you to make a hat too!
When you're done: What is the "trick" to make the paper stand up? Look at the sculpture you made Does it remind you of a place to play? Where is the best hiding place? Take a selfie with the hat on and share with your teacher.
