What are we doing? (Objective) - We will explore different kinds of lines and see how they can spark ideas for a drawing.
VOCABULARY: Zig zag, bumpy, wavy, curly, spiral, broken lines
MATERIALS: You will need:
White paper (construction paper or just white printer paper)
Pencil or Black Marker
Crayons, Colored Pencils, or Oil Pastels
THINK AND DO:
What is a line? It's a connection between two dots.
What can happen in between those dots? You can connect them straight across (straight), connect them by going up and down (zig zag, bumpy), or around and around ( curly, spiral, ).
Can you draw a zig zag line in the air. Can you move like a curly line?
When you're done: Did the lines remind you of something in real life? Did you make a design instead? Share your drawing with someone at home. Tell them what you made. What is your favorite part of your drawing and why?
