WHAT ARE WE DOING? (Objective) - We will create a cardboard collage and then do a crayon rubbing to create multiple pictures/prints of the same image.
VOCABULARY:
Texture -means how things feel when you touch them, or how they might seem to feel by looking at them.
Rubbing -pressing a crayon or pencil over paper on a surface to create markings and images.
Collage - a piece of art made by gluing different materials ( shapes, magazine pictures, cloth) on to another paper.
Collagraph- A Collagraph print is one made from a plate collaged with different textures.
MATERIALS: You will need:
Empty cereal box or any thin cardboard carton
Colored crayons with no paper
Scissors
White glue

Did you know you could use glued cardboard shapes to make a picture? That is called a collagraph. One artist who enjoyed using this technique is Romare Bearden. This is one of his collagraphs.
