As a teacher, I have very high expectations for my students. Not only do my students learn from me, but I learn from them everyday. I plan to form a close bond with the students so they will feel more motivated in the classroom. Some of my teaching strategies include me have one-on-one sessions with students. I believe that one-on-one time with the teacher is very beneficial to the students. I also allow a lot of time for discussion. In my class, we have many class discussions. I will also let the student's discuss certain matters amongst themselves. Diversity is very important to me. I always make sure that everyone is treated the same no matter what. I also continue to teach myself about diversity and I learn more and more about how to be more diverse everyday. I am always striving for my classroom to be a safe space for my students. I want my students to feel safe and comfortable when they walk into my class. For discipline, I always try and model good behavior to my students. I also always stress my students to model good behavior to each other. There are clear rules and expectations that I have posted on the wall of the classroom. I also clear descriptions of what will happen if they do not follow the rules. If a student is not following the rules, I beleive that the student needs to receive a warning or two. If a student is still not following the rules, I always pull the student away for us to have a one-on-one conversation. During this conversation, I will remind the student of what my expectations are. If the student still decides to know follow the classroom rules, the student may look some free time or recess time. As a teacher, I want to help guide my students and help them grow as learners and people.
