Read chapter 4 of Lord of the Flies.

In groups of three, answer the questions below. For each question, one person should be a "scribe." The scribes role is to take notes of what the other two group members discuss. The scribe should change for each question. Please be sure to include textual evidence in your responses.

Question Two: In what ways are the boys descending into savagery?

Question Three: What is the significance of Jack’s mask? Why does he paint his face for practical reasons and for psychological reasons?

Question Four: How are two separate groups emerging on the island?
