Click on the picture of John Steinbeck (right) to read the letter he wrote in 1938 to actress Clare Luce.
Clare Luce was to play Curley’s wife in a Broadway stage version of Of Mice and Men.
She wrote a letter to John Steinbeck because she was worried about playing such a character. Steinbeck wrote a letter in reply.
In groups of three, answer the questions below. For each question, one person should be a "scribe." The scribes role is to take notes of what the other two group members discuss. The scribe should change for each question.
