Getting Around Mount Abu 

After your winding journey up the hill and having passed the Toll Barrier, you will be swamped by touts who will either hand you leaflets or escort you to hotels for which they work. Once you are settled in Abu, you will be able to avail yourself of the local transport to visit the popular places here.

BUS:

The RTDC has five-hour tours of all the main sites, leaving the main bus stand at 8.30 am and at 1.30 pm (later in summer). Tour cost of Rs100/-to Rs 120/-and seasonal is Rs250/300. The Afternoon tour finishes at Sunset Point. Phone235434. These tours are also conducted by private bus operators. Car & Taxis:

For tourists hiring a cab to tour Mt.Abu is not too bad an option. You can hire a cab for half a day and it would cost you around Rs500/- 1000/- or you could hire it for the whole day which would rush you to Rs1200/- to Rs1500/-. During peak season time these rates will go up depending on the demand and supply. Any local trip from one point to another within the city will cost you Rs150/ .to Rs 200/ Please check for the latest costs and timings a lot has changed during the ongoing global pandemic. 

There are no auto-rickshaws in Mount Abu, but it is relatively easy to get around on foot. Porters with trolleys can be hired for a small charge to transport your luggage – weary travellers, children & old folks can even be transported on the trolley.

Motorcycle & Scooters:

For couples and groups of youth who possess driving licenses, rented motorbikes and scooters are the in thing; today there are many outlets that have this facility. Getting around Mount Abu by motorcycle or scooter is a genuine thrill as it gives you the freedom to move about at your own leisure. They can have bikes for Rs 250/- to Rs 300/-per day off-season. The ideal places to zoom to on your bike and scooter would be the two most visited places by tourists. The Honeymoon Point is also known as the Anadra Point and Sunset Point. These places provide a tranquil aura with a pleasant view of the verdant valley and plains. It looks especially beautiful during the sunset hour. Other places to visit would be Trevor’s Tank, Mini Nakki Lake, Veerbabji temple on the way to Oria and Guru Shikhar. You could visit the small shrine and the temple of Dattatreya standing on the Shikhar.
