Education Mount Abu.

The history of education in India is very rich and interesting, Indian education can be traced to ancient times up to the 3rd century BC. Research shows that in the ancient days, sages and scholars imparted education orally. Later it took the form of writing with the development of letters. Abu is known as the cradle of learning, Lord Ram and his brother Laxman had their schooling under the tutelage of the learned guru, Vashishta Muni, in the Gaumukh ashram.

The present education system in India mainly comprises of primary schooling, secondary, senior secondary and higher education. Higher education in India starts after passing the higher derivative or 12th standard. Graduation in India can take three to five depending on the stream. Postgraduate courses are generally of two to three years in duration.
