What is OneCricket, anyway?
OneCricket is a cricket-focused app with an active website, exclusively designed and managed by its parent company Parth Ltd. Based out of Gurgaon, the company's core strength lies at the intersection of Tech + Design. They aim to create unique digital products that are very niche focused. They do this all in-house with a team of designers, developers, and content experts where marketing department exclusively manages the social and digital activities of their well-built products.
I was approached directly by the company on LinkedIn, based on my strong previous work experience in the field of marketing, sports, and events coverage.
My interview with them went so well that I was given the 'Yes' nod in the first round of the interview itself.
As a Social Media Marketing Manager, I was in-charge of all the social and digital activities for the product i.e. OneCricket.
When I joined them, their digital presence was near negligible. My task was to build a community for the brand with a team of designers.
With them, I launched their very first social media campaign with a team when England visited India amid Covid-19 restrictions, back in 2021.
I created customised reports for the product's social media activities, and reported the same to the management.
Other than that, my role also involved working with a team, scheduling a timesheet for me + team, and preparing reports for team members' performance.
Building a community for OneCricket on social media channels.
Daily team coordination with the designers to get the job done over Slack.
Deciding content to be posted on social + approving creatives for the same with the help of designers on a daily basis.

Promoting website content in various forms with the team.
LIVE event coverage on Twitter + IG stories.
Covering matches as per international cricket calendar to build brand awareness + drive app installs.

Support to social media advertising via ad copy.
Participate in daily group meetings for content brainstorming.

Working constantly with the design team in terms of creative ideas, and giving final approval before it goes LIVE on social.
Preparing team members' performance report every month in Google Sheets.
Moderating fans' comments to keep the community vibe healthy, non-spammy, and non-abusive.
Engaging with fans over DMs on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Doing IG Stories during match days + adding them to Highlights for extended reach and engagement.

Trained my team members about the product who had no idea of sporting events and / or cricket.
Covered LIVE event via IG Stories for the first time.
Gave content data to the design team for IG Reels during the IPL 2020 edition.
Ideated, planned, and implemented product's very first social media campaign on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter with a team; which was also promoted on the website and app. I also wrote contest guidelines, and suggested creative ways to promote it on the website and app + in social media creatives.
Gave campaign idea presentation to different teams in a fully remote setting for the first time.
Learned how to brainstorm news and post ideas through daily team meeting in a remote setting.
Wrote detailed hashtag guidelines for all stakeholders to ease out the workflow for everyone during LIVE events.
Created a work timesheet for me and my team in Google Sheets for all stakeholders to see, and be available for work to cover different events.

First experience of using Hootsuite Pro for content scheduling, monitoring, and content analysis.
Did the heavy lifting of content sourcing (including images to be edited) + post's copy with hashtags, so that design team can prepare creatives + post it on social channels.
Sometimes gave creatives ideas to designers in terms of how the design should look like so that it appeals to the audience.
Promoted the App via IG Stories on match days.
Handled day-to-day social media activities from content creation and curation to posting and engagement to reporting and analysis, both in a managerial and in an individual capacity.
I did my first multi-channel social media campaign with a team in a lead role for a product.
A Tweet from the campaign made it to an article, published on SportsKeeda website.
I suggested and worked on adding Twitter to promote OneCricket as a brand.
I suggested the inclusion of exclusive interviews on the product website, which was later done by the content team.
I suggested a news briefing-style content theme in Reels format as OneCricket Daily, aimed to add video-style content to the social media content mix.
I planned and implemented storytelling-style content in Carousels format around IPL Auction 2021, aimed to get user interaction before the start of the event.

I covered Women's T20 Challenge which is now rebranded as Women's Premier League for the first time with a team.
I also covered Big Bash League Season 10 for the very first time with them.
I learned to use Zoom, Slack, Figma, and Google Meet + HootSuite Pro on the job, without anybody's help.
I trained my team about the product + how to work in my absence in a fully remote setting.
I learned how to promote an app during LIVE events using Instagram Stories for the first time.
As a team, we delivered 3,500+ creatives (photo, carousals, stories, videos, reels) which amassed 1.3M+ impressions, 1.2M+ reach, and 135K+ engagement across Facebook, Twitter & Instagram; all within a period of 6 months.
Within two weeks, Instagram Stories were started appearing in Hashtag & Location Stories — from October 12, 2020 till the end of IPL 2020 edition.
