1 Kitchen and Dining Building
The Kitchen and Dining building (24.5mts x 9.25mts) has a concrete floor, a rusted metal roof and predominately open walls. The food preparation area has one bench where bread dough is prepared. Wall cladding is requiring repair inside and out.
The Canteen staff facilitate three meals a day for the 298 students. The food is cooked in adjoining buildings (generally decrepit condition) in wood heated rice cookers and a wood fired brick oven. Other equipment is minimal or nonexistent. There is no electricity, no lighting, rain water tanks are dysfunctional.
The meals in general are rice, packet needles and tinned fish. This is not a satisfactory diet and efforts need to be made to supplement the diet with fruit and vegetables.
Recommendations:

· Replace wood fired equipment with electric
· Supply 5KVA generator
· Install a water tank and plumb to kitchen area
· Install cupboards to house cutlery and crockery
· Benches to be sanded and painted
