Breclare Academy school has been operating in the Mathare Slum for over twenty years. It currently has over 320 students from pre-school to year 12. The buildings are in need of repair and classroom resources are minimal. Late in 2020 the two story building was completely renovated with the second level classrooms rebuilt and new floors installed. Below are the before and after photos.

The stairs were a occupational health hazard and the first thing replaced.
A 10x10 metre shed is in shocking condition and houses 6 classes of over 150 students. Many sitting on the floor.
