What Professionalism Means to Me:
A professional teacher is someone who is...
Respectful - towards colleagues, students and their families
Knowledgeable- about the subject matters they are teaching, and how to manage a classroom and their students
Willing to learn- foster a growth mindset- by continuously going to P.D and keeping up with research to gain information - which helps them enhance their skills to improve what they have to offer their students
Empathetic- showing students that they are there for them and that they care- it is important for students to know they are seen and understood
Motivated to meet students’ needs - providing students with the support and tools they need to succeed, and not giving up until they are provided with all they need
Adaptable- responding to the different and changing needs of our students by adapting lessons plans, also being able to handle situations that unexpectedly arise
Open-Minded - being able to accept constructive criticism, and being open to other suggestions to improve ways of teaching
Approachable - students rely on us to provide them with information and direct them through their school career, therefore, we want our students to know they can come and talk to us at any time and that we understand them and are here to help them
