New uniforms were purchased by the school in 2024. Each uniform has multiple pieces that are individually assigned to your student. You and your student are required to sign the uniform contract each year. Contracts should be signed as soon as possible after you receive them, and before the first use of the uniform.
You can read the contract and sign it via your CutTime link (student must sign in the link they receive and parent must sign separately using the link they receive.). Alternatively, you can print the contract out using the link below, sign it, and return it to the black box in the band room. The uniform contract is also available to read below.

Parent/Student Marching Band Uniform Contract
2025-2026 Season
Marching Band students are assigned a complete uniform, which includes:
Bib Pants
Dress Shirt
Undershirt
Jacket Vest
Gauntlets
Hat (Brim, Wrap, & Plume) or Beret
These items are property of MCHS and must be returned at the end of the season in the condition in which they were received. Please read below how to properly wear and care for these items to avoid fees for damaged items.
(Non-issued items to be purchased individually: black pants for parade marching, gloves, all-black tall socks, MTX marching shoes, orange band t-shirt, and orange band polo.)
Dressing for Performances:
Wear your required orange band t-shirt and shorts/pants (no jeans), with tall black socks. Hair, for all genders, must be pulled up tightly to ensure no flyaways. Makeup should not be worn, as it can stain your uniform and you may be assessed a fee. All jewelry must be removed before putting your uniform on.
Locate your uniform by its associated number and name card. You can find this on the end of each uniform rack. Uniforms must stay in numerical order on the racks. You should dress in the following order:
Undershirt, if needed
Bib pants, taking care not to drag them across the ground
Marching shoes
Dress Shirt
Jacket Vest. Ask for help with the clasps and zipper.
Hat and Wrap
Put on gloves and secure gauntlets so the shirt does not show below the edge.
Plumes will be attached to your hat by a band volunteer prior to performances.
Uniform volunteers are available for assistance and will be looking for any uniform discrepancies. The bus ride can also be an option to secure your hair. NEATNESS COUNTS!
Returning the uniform after a performance:
You are responsible for hanging up your uniform neatly and returning it to the correct rack after each use. Be sure to store all pieces of your uniform.
Fold pants so the seams are together and the pants crease FLAT on the hanger.
The dress shirt goes on the hanger next, so it hangs neatly over the pants, with the points of the hanger facing forward.
Hang the jacket over the pants & dress shirt and zip fully. The front of the jacket must face the front of the garment bag.
Return your hat to your hat box and be sure it’s returned to the rack.
Gloves and gauntlets go in the upper zipper compartment of your garment bag.
Shoes can be stored in the lower pocket of the garment bag.
If uniforms are not hung up properly you will be sent back to hang it neatly.
Dirty uniforms and/or uniforms in need of repair: Please report any problems or stains to the uniform volunteers immediately!
Eating or drinking anything other than water in uniform is NOT allowed.
Do not apply perfume or Febreeze to uniforms.
Adjust your bib pants hems and dress shirt sleeves with the snaps for appropriate length
Bib pants should also be adjusted at the shoulders as needed to maintain proper hem length. If your pants are too long it is your responsibility to notify a uniform volunteer immediately. Pants become damaged when they drag on the ground.
Bib pants will be assessed a $25 damage fee for any hems that need to be permanently shortened due to frayed hems.
Weather and uniform care: Marching band is an all-weather activity. In the event of rain you may need to take your uniform home to dry it out.
In this event, once you are home:
Remove everything from the uniform bag.
Hang all items separately in an area of your home away from smoke, cooking odors, pets, etc.
Open the hat box, wipe off any pooling water and allow ample time to dry thoroughly.
Allow the uniform to hang until completely dry (at least 24 hours) before returning it to the bag.
You may wash the all black undershirt as needed according to the care instructions on the tag. It is YOUR responsibility to remember to bring it back to school. You will not be able to borrow an undershirt. DO NOT LAUNDER ANY OTHER PART OF THE UNIFORM IN ANY WAY!
Improperly dried uniforms that become mildew damaged will be assessed a full replacement charge.
In the event that an item is lost or damaged and needs to be replaced, the costs are as follows:
Jacket Vest $180
Dress Shirt $80
Undershirt $40
Bib Pants $74
Gauntlet pair $40
Hat Rim $40
