Due to a new Illinois law, there is a new process for volunteers. This is not just for band, but for all volunteering at the school.
If you are planning to volunteer 1-2 times this school year, you only need to give the Band Boosters your date of birth so the school can do a Raptor check.
If you plan on volunteering multiple times this season and/or going on an overnight trip, there are a few more easy steps.
Fill out and print the Background Check form and take it to the Grundy-Kendall County Regional Office of Education at 320 Union St, Morris, IL 60450. No appointment is needed. This is a very quick process and should take less about 15-30 minutes. There is no charge for this.
Fill out a very short online form and follow the instructions.
*Please contact the Boosters if you have questions or need help.
When students participate in individual fundraisers, 90% of the proceeds raised goes into their Student Account, with the remaining 10% going to the Booster General Fund. Student Account funds can be used for many band related expenses: band camp, instrument costs (purchases, repairs, reeds, etc.), private lessons, and of course the band trip! All fundraisers are OPTIONAL. You can participate at whatever level you feel comfortable with, or not at all.
If you have a fundraising opportunity or idea, please send an email to our fundraising chairperson, Dawn Rogowski.
