Mides Academy Behavior Policy
1. Introduction
At Mides Academy, we are committed to fostering a respectful, safe, and inclusive environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This policy outlines the standards of behavior expected of all students and the procedures in place to support positive conduct.

3. Code of Conduct
All students are expected to:
Respect others: Be polite, listen actively, and avoid disruptive behavior.
Follow instructions: Adhere to the guidance of teachers and staff.
Be punctual and prepared: Arrive on time with necessary materials.
Respect property: Treat school and personal property with care.
Promote safety: Avoid actions that endanger oneself or others.
4. Rewards for Positive Behavior
To encourage exemplary behavior, Mides Academy will:
Recognize students through verbal praise and certificates.
Award points, badges, or merits for good behavior and achievements.
Offer opportunities to participate in trips, leadership roles, or reward events.
Celebrate accomplishments in assemblies and newsletters.
5. Addressing Misbehavior
5.1 Levels of Misbehavior
Low-Level: Disruptions in class, lateness, or failure to follow instructions.
Medium-Level: Repeated low-level behavior, disrespect, or failure to complete sanctions.
High-Level: Bullying, fighting, vandalism, or actions that compromise safety.
5.2 Sanctions
Appropriate consequences will be applied depending on the severity and frequency of the misbehavior:
Verbal warnings and redirection.
Temporary removal from class (cool-off period).
Lunchtime or after-school detentions.
Behavior monitoring reports or individual support plans.
Parental involvement through meetings or communication.
Internal exclusions or, in severe cases, fixed-term or permanent exclusion.
6. Bullying and Harassment
Mides Academy has a zero-tolerance policy for bullying. All reports of bullying will be taken seriously and addressed promptly following the school’s Anti-Bullying Policy.
7. Roles and Responsibilities
Students: Follow the Code of Conduct and take responsibility for actions.
Teachers and Staff: Model positive behavior, enforce rules consistently, and provide support.
Parents/Guardians: Reinforce the school’s expectations and support behavior interventions.
8. Support for Positive Behavior
Pastoral care teams will offer guidance to students struggling with behavioral expectations.
Mentorship, counseling, and peer support programs will be available.
Collaboration with external agencies will be pursued when necessary.
9. Monitoring and Evaluation
The behavior policy will be reviewed annually. Feedback from staff, students, and parents will ensure its effectiveness in maintaining a positive school climate.
