The Permanent Exhibition Hall of the Museu Geològic del Seminari de Barcelona shows us this with a tour of the paleontological and geological heritage preserved by this centenary institution. Through a representative selection of fossils, minerals and rocks, the hall allows us to understand the main processes that have shaped the Earth throughout geological time and the evolution of life on our planet.
The collections on display, the result of decades of research, teaching and fieldwork, stand out for their scientific and historical value. Many of the pieces come from reference sites, especially in Catalonia, and have contributed, and continue to contribute, significantly to the study of geology and paleontology in our country.
This room is conceived as a space for dissemination and knowledge, with different itineraries aimed at both the public and students and specialists. The space reflects the vocation of the Geological Museum of the Seminary of Barcelona to preserve, study and disseminate natural heritage as a fundamental tool for understanding the Earth's past and the challenges of the present.
