The Geological Museum of the Seminary of Barcelona houses an outstanding malacological collection, with nearly 10,000 records of current species. Its main purpose is to support the study of fossil forms, without losing its own notable scientific interest. The unforgettable malacologist Carlos Altimiras (1919–1983) worked on it.
The collection of terrestrial mollusks, made up of specimens collected by Marià Faura i Sans (1886–1941) and Artur Bofill-Poch (1846–1929), was studied by one of the most eminent representatives of the Catalan malacological school, Miguel Bech Taberner (1919–2006).
For its part, the Casamor collection stands out both for its breadth and for the rigor with which its nomenclature was studied.
The reverend Leandro Casamor (1920–1997) was a prominent collector of marine fauna, especially from the Mediterranean. It is also worth mentioning the malacological section from the collections of the Club Muntanyenc Barcelonès, assembled by Joan Vilella. It contains numerous specimens donated and determined by Juan María Viader Garí-Montllor, who also significantly enriched the MGSB collections with valuable contributions.
